Leaving Cert Academy Lite

If sixth year has already filled your timetable, this is the live option designed to fit around it. Academy Lite gives you one focused live class every Monday, with guided independent work between sessions. There are no Saturday or Wednesday Lite classes. The first cohort is formed; the planner below shows the structure a future Monday group would follow.

One hour, and you can see exactly which one

A week has 168 hours in it. Academy Lite asks for one live hour on Monday, at the same time each week, so it can fit around school, work and the rest of your Leaving Certificate.

    The one fixed hour of your week. Comprehension, written expression and the exam techniques that carry the most marks, taught live in a small group.

That is of live group teaching on Monday, at the same time each week, so it can fit around school, work and the rest of your Leaving Certificate. Every session is recorded, so a missed Monday is not a lost one.

Why the lighter version works

Small and regular beats big and occasional

A course you can actually keep up with for ten months will always beat one you abandon at Christmas. Lite is built around that, and around the fact that sixth year has six other subjects in it.

  • One appointment, not a scattered week

    Monday at 17:30, every week of the school year. It goes into the calendar once in September and the rest of your week is left alone, which is the difference between a course you finish and one you drop in November.

  • Films, music and conversation carry the grammar

    An hour is too short to spend on drills. Polish culture does the work instead: you talk about something real every week, and the vocabulary and structures arrive attached to it.

  • A clear direction for independent practice

    Each Monday lesson gives you a clear focus for the work you complete independently before the next session, including appropriate use of past papers.

  • The gaps between Mondays are covered

    Your place includes the self-paced Blitz and Go course and all the material from every live session on the platform, so the six days between Mondays have something in them if you want them to.

Practise between Mondays

Every official Leaving Cert Polish paper from 2005 to 2026 lives in our archive: Higher and Ordinary Level, listening papers, the original audio and the marking schemes. Lite students work through one of them together every month, but you do not need to be enrolled to use them.

Questions students and parents ask first

What is the Leaving Cert Academy Lite?

It is the lighter live version of the full Academy: one focused class every Monday from September to June, with guided independent work between sessions and no Saturday class. You get the same teacher, the same materials and the same assessment standards as the full Academy, on a smaller time commitment.

How much time does Academy Lite take each week?

One hour, on Monday evening from 17:30 to 18:30. There is no Saturday and no Wednesday class. Guided independent work sits on top of that and how long it takes is up to you. Every session date for the year is on this page as a planner, so you can check it against your own calendar before you commit.

How is this different from the full Academy?

Frequency, not quality. The full Academy adds a two hour Saturday grammar workshop every week, a monthly exam paper review and a monthly 30-minute one to one on top of the Monday lesson. Lite keeps the Monday lesson and removes the Saturday teaching and the monthly individual support included with the full Academy. Pick Lite if your week is already full and you want steady progress rather than immersion.

What level of Polish do I need for Academy Lite?

Around A2 and upwards. In practice that means you can hold a conversation at home and read simple Polish, even if you have never written an essay in it. If you are unsure where you stand, book a free consultation and we will work it out together.

What happens if I miss a Monday?

Every live session is recorded and goes up on the platform, so you catch up in your own time. Your place also includes the self-paced Blitz and Go course, which covers the same ground in short units you can work through whenever it suits you.

Is one hour a week really enough?

It is enough to keep you moving if you do the guided work between lessons. One taught hour a week for a full school year adds up to a lot of contact time, and each lesson sets a clear focus for the practice you complete before the next one. If you want more, the full Academy exists for that.

How is my written work marked in Academy Lite?

Written work is reviewed using the published assessment requirements and marking guidance relevant to the task. You receive clear feedback on what is effective, what is incomplete and which language habit to work on in the next piece, including how to use past papers between lessons.

How do I join Academy Lite?
